COPPA Statement

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), effective April 21, 2000, applies to the online collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years. This act, and its associated rules, spell out what a website operator must include in a privacy policy, when and how to seek verifiable consent from a parent, and what responsibilities a website operator has to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

In general, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and Rules apply to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act and Rule also cover other types of information – for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms – when they are tied to individually identifiable information.

OCICNetwork agrees fully with COPPA and, in order to comply completely with the act and rules, OCICNetwork parent website, and all our DBA websites, will not knowingly collect, and will not keep, maintain, or distribute, any information from, or relating to, children under the age of sixteen (16) years. Further, we will not conduct business directly with anyone under the age of eighteen (18) years. We have extended the age level in our own policy to better ensure full compliance.
